everyone gathers round

on this fourth day of July

bringing food, games, and enthusiasm,

to celebrate our freedom 

and wave our flags high.

watching children play 

and lovers exchange 

their goodbye kisses,

we salute to all the wonderful men and women

who fight for all our freedom.

prayers are lifted daily for those

coming and going,

every day that passes 

wouldn't be so renewing,

if it weren't for the generations

that have come and gone before us

living and dying for liberty

and the love and peace

to save us 

we take this day to celebrate 

but also to say thank you

to every special person that gave their lives

and sacrificed all for us

we love you, we appreciate you,

we stand in awe of you.

this world would not be the same.

we would not feel as safe,

without the selfless service you provide

every night and every day
